Work with York Limited are assisting a York based public sector client, with a brand-new service, Together We Can. We are looking to recruit qualified Residential Children’s Practitioner to provide support to children and young people aged between 11 - 17 across the city.
You will be working both evening, weekend and waking nights shifts (10pm - 7am).
The pay is £17.40 per hour, during the week and £18.98 per hour for the weekend.
This role involves:
- Working as part of a specialist team to support children, young people and their families who are on the edge of care, in care or leaving care.
- Playing a crucial role in a young person’s life, acting as a key worker and developing meaningful relationships built on compassion, respect, and trust.
- Providing ongoing support to young people and their families who are on the edge of care or supporting them back to their family home or supported lodgings.
- Providing exceptional care and support when a young person requires coordinated support, whilst living in a residential setting.
- Supporting a young person requiring therapeutic care, to access the relevant services and provide oversight and pathway co-ordination in and out of health services, in conjunction with multiagency care plans.
You will:
- Have experience in supporting young adults with complex health care needs.
- Have a driving license and a vehicle for transport.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Hold an Enhanced Children’s current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check.
Desirable:
- Level 3-4 Children’s and Family practitioner.
- Level 3-4 certificate in residential childcare.
